Five years ago, on November 18-20, 2016, more than 400 Catholics from all corners of the Archdiocese gathered to pray and reflect together on what it would look like for the Church in southeast Michigan to undergo a missionary transformation.
Synod 16 was not a one-time event to be completed and then set aside. It was the ignition spark for a complete renewal of our Church, reversing our inward focus on maintenance so that we can become the outward-facing Church on mission God calls us to be.
Five years later, we invite you to look back on Synod 16, reflect on God’s abundant graces that followed, and see how those graces continue to transform our local Church today.
